Location & Getting There:
The Ahuriri Valley is dramatic, rugged, it's in a beautiful mountain country, with wetlands, tussocks and beech forest.
We can arrange a chauffeured luxury vehicle, or you may wish to self-drive. 2.5hour drive from Queenstown Airport, or 4.5 hours from Christchurch via the scenic Lake Tekapo.
Take a Heli with an incredible journey over the patchwork of Canterbury Plains, the braided Waimakariri river, the snowy peaks of the Alps, and the lush beech forests of the valleys. The Heli from Queenstown (under 45mins) or Christchurch (just under 1 ¾ hours).
Suites & Master Suites:
There are 5x suites in the main lodge:
· 2x Master Suites only, at either end of the sweeping lodge. They are by far the most expansive suites, ranging from 63-76m2.
· 3x Suites range from 49-53m2
They are the epitome of redefined modern luxury, each with incredible valley views, with sumptuous bathtubs, super king-size beds, and of course premium linens and toiletries.
The suites each have gas fireplaces, and the Master suites have double-sided gas fireplaces. They have private indoor and outdoor seating areas, all designed for quiet relaxation. The floor to ceiling windows in all the suites offer uninterrupted valley view’s creating a genuine connection to the surrounding high country.
The Pods:
The luxury pods at The Lindis provide peak seclusion! These stunning structures perfectly merge the surrounding environment with the luxury interiors. They’re cleverly designed with double-glazed, mirrored glass walls on three sides.
They are on the smaller side with a 18m² footprint, but they are cosy and the space is used very efficiently. These Pods offer a couple the ultimate in privacy and escape.
They're fully heated and provide all the modern conveniences for a premium luxury stay:
Ensuite, king-size bed, and again, the finest linen and toiletries.
There are very few neighbours at this off-the-grid stay, where it’s easy to imagine you’re the only two to have ever explored the area.
They each have a private terrace with an alfresco hot tub – perfect to soak up the pristine valley. Now that’s how to do stargazing!
Dining:
All meals are included in your nightly rate. This includes a stocked mini-bar along with daily: Leisurely breakfasts, and lunch (choice of light lunch or packed lunches you can take on your adventures, or we can also arrange a private lunch chef experience). There are also daily pre-dinner drinks & canapés, and multi-course dinners.
The menu is constantly changing and always showcasing grown-on-site produce, line-caught fish and locally sourced free-range meat.
At the Lindis, the food is as good as the spectacular restaurant view! The restaurant itself has stylish interiors, bluestone walls, halo-like hanging lighting AND the floor-to-ceiling windows framing the spectacular ever-changing scenery.
There is a huge sustainability focus at the Lindis with solar panels and geothermal energy providing the heating, rainwater is collected and undergoes UV filtration. All bath and cleaning products are eco-friendly.
Curated Activities:
As part of the fully inclusive experience, guests can enjoy self-guided walking tracks on-site and access to the hot tub and gym.
Then there is an array of activities that we can help arrange for you;
Horse trekking, gliding, fly-fishing, e-biking, clay targets or archery.
There are guided hikes, rafting, farm tours and 4-seater buggy tours.
Or more relaxing yoga classes, massage/facial.
We can also arrange the ultimate Heli experiences, including the Tasman glacier, Mt Cook with a private whisky hut landing, picnic in the alpine peaks, or further afield to the Milford or Dusky sounds
Stargazing / astrophotography tours in the Ahuriri Valley are under some of the darkest skies in the World.
